UK ETA dla St Vincent and the Grenadines: Jak się ubiegać

Vincentian citizens need a UK ETA, not a visa, for visits to Britain of up to six months. The authorisation costs £20, ties to a single passport and lasts two years or until that passport runs out, whichever comes first. St Vincent and the Grenadines joined the scheme on 8 January 2025, so an approved ETA is checked before you can board.

TL;DR: If you hold a St Vincent and the Grenadines passport, apply online before flying. The £20 permit usually lands by email in minutes, though the Home Office asks for up to three working days. One approval covers repeat trips for two years, each stay up to six months.

Do Vincentian citizens need a UK ETA?

Yes. Since 8 January 2025 every St Vincent and the Grenadines passport holder must hold an approved ETA before a short trip to the UK, as set out on the Krajowej Listy ETA Ministerstwa Spraw Wewnętrznych. The country sits in the January 2025 rollout with other Commonwealth Caribbean neighbours. This replaced the old visa-free arrival stamp — it is a quick pre-check, not a visa.

No embassy visit, no posted passport. Each traveller needs their own ETA, so a couple travelling with two children submit four forms. Unsure whether your visit qualifies? Our guide to kto potrzebuje brytyjskiego ETA covers the exceptions, and you can confirm your status with the official sprawdź, czy potrzebujesz wizy do Wielkiej Brytanii tool. The przewodnik krajowy shows where the islands fit.

Visiting family in Britain

Many Vincentians travel to the UK to see relatives, thanks to decades of family ties between the islands and British cities. A visit to family, a wedding or a graduation all sit comfortably inside what an ETA allows, as long as each stay stays under six months and you are not taking paid work.

Picture Denise, a nurse from Kingstown flying to her cousin’s wedding in Birmingham. Her £20 ETA cleared in eight minutes on the app. She kept the confirmation on her phone and a printed copy in her bag, then sailed through boarding. How much is the UK ETA, and what does it include?

The fee is £20, set on 8 April 2025 when it rose from £10, according to GOV.UK. That works out around XCD 67 in East Caribbean dollars. You pay once, with no card surcharge on the official app.

What the £20 covers Limit
Trips Unlimited across the two-year window
Each stay Do 6 miesięcy
Dozwolone Turystyka, rodzina, spotkania biznesowe, studia krótkoterminowe
Niedozwolone Praca zarobkowa dla pracodawcy z Wielkiej Brytanii, długie kursy

One approval running two years suits anyone who visits Britain more than once. The Home Office reported 24.8 million ETAs issued from the October 2023 launch to the end of 2025. Our Wyjaśnienie opłaty £20 puts that in context.

Getting to the UK: route through Barbados, not the US

There is no direct flight from St Vincent to Britain, and your connecting hub decides whether you need a second country’s visa. Route through the United States and you also need a US visa, because St Vincent and the Grenadines is not in the US Visa Waiver Program — the islands’ passport does not unlock a US ESTA, even for a change of planes.

The simpler option for most is Barbados. A short hop to Grantley Adams International connects with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic flights straight to London, keeping the trip clear of US rules entirely. Yacht crew moving between the Grenadines and a UK season should note the same point: an ETA authorises your own entry to Britain, but it does nothing for a US layover along the way.

Profesjonalna wskazówka: Compare the Barbados routing with any US-touching fare before booking. A cheaper US connection can end up dearer once a US visa interview and fee are added. An ETA never covers transit through a third country.

Common issues for Vincentian passport holders

Most problems trace back to the passport rather than the traveller. Your ETA is locked to one passport number. Renew the passport and the old approval dies — you reapply for a fresh £20 ETA and travel on the new book. Our note on ponowne składanie wniosku po odnowieniu lays out the steps.

Type your name exactly as it appears in the passport’s machine-readable zone. English is the official language of St Vincent and the Grenadines, so nothing needs translating — a real advantage over many other applicants. Save an offline copy of your approval email as well, since check-in staff at Argyle sometimes ask for the reference before issuing a boarding pass. For a full checklist, see our przewodnik wymagań według kraju.

Keep the limits of an ETA in mind. It clears you to board; a Border Force officer at the UK gate still makes the entry decision. Carry your return ticket and the address where you will stay, and arrivals is straightforward. Nervous before a fixed date?
